I was under the impression that we needed a slogan or a catch phrase, so I came up with the corniest one I could. As it turned out, we didn’t need one. Oh well.

To be honest I took the file I started in class at the beginning of the year and used it as my jumping off point. I wanted the paint splatters to blend smoothly in with the shoe and other splatters. I chose to keep all of the splatters black and white to match the classic profile of the shoe.

Since I was using a shoe designed for skate boarders, I wanted the splatters to give the feeling of air and lightness. I wanted to give the splatters on the shoe the same feeling you get when you see images of swimmers followed by the perfect splashes of water as they glide through the pool.
